When Rodney , engaged in a bloody gang led by psychopath Harlan DeGroat (Woody Harrelson ) , mysteriously disappears , Russell begins to look .

Casey Affleck , younger brother of Ben Affleck , stands out in his role as taciturn soldier, traumatized by the battle front and unable to find a place in a community and in a town with no future.

The actor, 38, who was also in the lineup this fall with "Is not Them Bodies Saints" with Rooney Mara , saw " many documentaries " and " spoke with several former combatants " to prepare for his role .
